Dear Charleston,
Where do I begin? You captivated me from the moment I set foot on your cobblestone streets. Your beauty, charm, and rich history have woven their way into the very fabric of my being. I can’t stop thinking about you. Is this what you call a “love at first sight”? Can you really fall in love with a place? I think the answer to that is YES!
From the iconic Rainbow Row to the grandeur of the Battery, your architecture tells a story of resilience and elegance. Each building holds a piece of the past, whispering tales of … As I stroll through your historic district, I can’t help but be in awe with all the attention to detail that went into creating these timeless structures. There’s history in every corner. It’s like stepping back in time, and I can’t help but wonder about the lives of those who walked these streets before me. And are you kidding me? The pink buildings!!
But it’s not just the buildings that make you special, Charleston. It’s the people who call you home. The warmth and hospitality I’ve encountered here are unmatched. I’ve walked around the City Market and passed hundreds of local vendors who greeted me with a smile. Your residents have a genuine kindness that is both rare and precious. Your sense of community is felt in every interaction, reminding me of the importance of human connection in this fast-paced world.
And then there’s your culinary scene! Charleston, you have spoiled me for life.
But perhaps what I love most about you, Charleston, is your ability to preserve your history while embracing the present. You have found a way to honor your past without getting stuck in it.
I wanna explore every inch of you. I wanna sit at your cafes for hours, sip on my latte, and admire all the old buildings. Watch people walking by… admiring your city just like me. You have so much history. So many love stories to tell. Probably broke a lot of hearts too. And I’m one of those people… because I don’t wanna leave you. I wanna stay and fall in love with you even more.
As I sit here, writing this letter to you, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness knowing that my time with you is limited. But I take solace in the fact that our paths crossed, even if only for a short while. You have left an indelible mark on my heart, and I will carry the memories of our time together for a lifetime.
(But here I am now… wondering when I’ll be back again. Hoping next time I can stay longer.)
Thanks you, Charleston, for opening your arms and welcoming me into your embrace. You have shown me the true meaning of Southern hospitality and have left an imprint on my soul. Until we meet again… know that you will always hold a special place in my heart.
With love and gratitude,
Chara
